Provincial Nominee Programs

Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) offer a fast track to the permanent residence visa and eventual citizenship. PNPs allow the provinces and territories to nominateindividuals for immigration to a particular province. Each province and territory has an agreement with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) allowing them to select immigrants for a permanent residence visa.

Provincial and territorial governments use PNPs to attract newcomers with special skills and professional experience. The programs must also screen candidates to ensure a good fit with life and work in the region.

Most PNPs contain at least one source of immigration candidates linked with the federal Express Entry selection system. These are called enhanced nominations.
